Principal's Message
Dear Sierra Linda School families,
Welcome to the 2024–2025 school year! We are excited to welcome all our Eagles on campus for the first day of school Thursday, August 15, 2024. School starts promptly at 8:35 a.m. with breakfast being available from our cafeteria at 8:20 am. Our TK and Kindergarten students may get picked up at 2:50 p.m. on Ironbark Dr. Our 1st grade students may be picked up at 2:55 p.m. on Ironbark Dr. (Kinder area).2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students may get picked up at 2:55 p.m. in front of the school. Our 5th grade students may get picked up at 2:55 p.m. on Ironbark Dr. (gate closest to Sierra Linda Park).
There is much to be excited about as we work with you throughout the school year to ensure that your child gets the best possible educational experience. Please make sure to review the school hours, school calendar, and drop-off/pick-up map that are included in the welcome packet. Our school’s priority is to provide a safe learning environment where students are supported academically, emotionally, and socially to develop to their fullest potential. We consider families to be our most essential partners in achieving this vision!
Family engagement and communication is more important now than ever before. It is essential to stay connected with your child’s teacher and the school. I encourage you and personally invite you to participate in School Site Council (SSC), English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC), and Parent/Teacher Association (PTA). These three groups are an essential part of the decision making that takes place for your child. I will be sending updates through ParentSquare phone messages, texts, and emails, so please make certain to notify the Sierra Linda office staff with changes of address and phone numbers. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Sierra Linda office. You are and always will be an essential part of your child’s education. School offices are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and teachers and staff are working hard to prepare to support your child’s education.
Thank you for your support as we work together to provide a strong educational experience for our Eagles!
Sincerely,
Jorge Mares
Sierra Linda School Principal
